My Chili

We love chili in football season! It is easy to make too. Plus, the husband can put it with Velveeta cheese and he's good to go. My favorite chili? Well, I actually have taken one from my mom, one from just walking around the grocery store & well, probably one from past friends. I don't really know. The only recipe I can say I made on my own. If you make yours this way too, than awesome. It's the best! I added links to a couple of the ingredients so you can see what one I am talking about!

1lb ground beef - browned
2 cans red kidney beans - drained
2 cans Kuner's Hot Chili Beans in Spicy Sauce
2 cans (the small ones, 8 oz I believe?) Hunt's tomato sauce
2 packets McCormick Hot Chili Seasoning.

It's pretty basic if you make chili. We don't generally like a lot of beef in ours, so that's why I only do 1 pound. Last night for the opening football game, I did 1 of each of the ingredients, and 2 of the tomato sauce and it was really meaty. That part is really up to you!

If you haven't browned the meat yet, do that. Then pour the chili beans, tomato sauce, kidney beans (drained!!) and the seasoning into the crock pot. Add beef (drained) and then mix it all together. Cook on high for a couple hours, or cook on low for longer. I don't have a set time, I cook it until we are ready to eat, if I notice it starting to stick to the sides, I turn it down to warm.

This chili is really spicy, so I wouldn't suggest it for kids. I have to drink a lot of water with it, and I love spicy foods.

**Side note - I generally use Hunt's tomato sauce because I like it better, but you can use any brand. Red Kidney beans I use Kuner's or the store brand, I don't notice much of a difference in them.**
